From drawing to finished mesh and filter parts

Send a PDF, DWG, STEP file, worn sample or marked-up photos — we review material, tolerance and manufacturability, then return DFM feedback and a technical quotation. NDA available on request.

Common requests· 01

Common custom fabrication requests.

KAIFIL supports drawing-based fabrication for replacement parts, OEM filter elements and special mesh assemblies used in industrial filtration, screening and process equipment.

Common RFQs include stainless steel mesh cylinders, welded filter sleeves, framed mesh panels, filter discs, multilayer screen packs, strainer baskets, conical screens, perforated-supported mesh parts, wedge wire assemblies and custom components made from drawings or samples.

Send drawings, worn sample photos, installation dimensions, material grade, filtration rating, working conditions and annual quantity. If details are missing, engineering returns a short DFM note before quotation.

Fabrication capabilities· 02

What we can make from mesh.

Cutting & slitting

Discs, strips and shaped blanks cut to size from roll or sheet.

Edging & framing

Bound edges, metal rims and frames for handling and sealing.

Welding

Spot, seam and TIG welding for cylinders, baskets and assemblies.

Stamping & forming

Deep-drawn and formed mesh parts to drawing.

Assembly

Multi-layer packs, supported elements and complete units.

Cleaning & packing

Degreasing, marking and export packaging to order requirements.

Custom workflow· 03

Four phases from RFQ to shipment.

Workable materials· 04

Materials we fabricate.

MaterialTypical formNotes
SS304Woven mesh rolls / cut discs / perforated sheet / welded cylindersGeneral industrial screening and dry filtration; confirm chloride exposure before substituting for SS316L.
SS316LWoven mesh / pleated cartridges / sintered laminates / fabricated basketsCommon for food / chemical / chloride-aware duty; passivation available when stated on PO.
SS321Woven mesh and fabricated parts for elevated temperatureHigh-temperature service — send peak operating and clean temperature on RFQ.
Duplex (2205 / 2507)Mesh overlays / strainer baskets / custom weldmentsQuoted for aggressive or high-chloride duty when SS316L is insufficient — grade confirmed per fluid data.
Titanium (Gr2 / Gr5)Mesh discs / thin support plates / specialty assembliesCorrosion-critical or lightweight duty — confirm grade and thickness from drawing.
Nickel alloys (Inconel / Hastelloy)Mesh / sintered laminates / welded filter elementsHigh-temperature or severe chemical streams — alloy selected from concentration and temperature profile.
Brass / copper meshWoven mesh discs and panelsScreening / shielding and specialty mesh — confirm compatibility with process media and cleaning agents.
Carbon steel (perforated / expanded)Support plates / guards / backing for mesh laminationOften paired with stainless mesh overlay — galvanic and process compatibility must be approved on drawing.
Monel / copper-nickelWoven mesh and fabricated strainer elementsSeawater and brine intake applications — send chloride level and cleaning method.
Specialty alloys (on drawing)Any fabricated form quoted from specificationInconel / Hastelloy / duplex and other grades quoted when mill certificate and processing route are defined on RFQ.

Confidentiality· 07

Your drawings stay your drawings.

We sign NDAs on request before you share proprietary drawings or samples. Your files are used only for quotation, DFM review and production of your order — they are not shared with third parties, reused for other customers or published without written permission. Project files can be deleted on request after the order closes. If your quality system requires a named confidentiality contact or data-retention period, state this when opening the project.

FAQ· 08

Custom fabrication questions.

PDF, DWG, STEP, IGES and marked-up sample photos. List critical tolerances on the drawing.

Yes—request NDA execution when opening the project.

Samples or first-article confirmation are offered when drawing complexity or validation requires it—confirmed per quote.

After drawing review and material confirmation; sampling may apply for new weldments—confirmed per quote.

Tolerance depends on feature type, material and process — cutting, welding, forming and assembly each have practical limits. Send critical dimensions and tolerance classes on the drawing; we return DFM feedback listing achievable ranges before you commit to batch production. First-article dimensional reports are available when specified on the PO.

MOQ and any sample or first-article charge depend on process steps, alloy and inspection level — confirmed per quote, not from a single site-wide number. Export packing can follow your PO spec (carton, crate, VCI, pallet pattern) and part-number or revision marking on each piece when required. State annual quantity, sample need and marking rules on the RFQ.
