How it is made & specified.

This double-layer wastewater strainer basket combines a perforated metal support with a woven wire mesh layer. The support shell carries the mechanical load and helps the basket retain its shape; the woven mesh provides the smaller controlled opening for solids capture. The selected source identifies SS304 and SS316 options for sewage-treatment straining.

The layer order and attachment method depend on flow direction and cleaning access. Mesh may be installed inside or outside the perforated support, but the seam and rim must be sealed to limit bypass. The mesh opening should be chosen from the solids to retain and the allowable differential pressure rather than from a generic efficiency percentage.

Basket dimensions are made to the treatment unit or housing. Required measurements include outside diameter, working depth, rim or flange, handle envelope, bottom construction and clearance for removal. For replacement parts, provide a drawing or sample and identify which surfaces locate or seal the basket.

SS304 can suit many general wastewater duties. SS316 may be considered where the fluid chemistry requires improved corrosion resistance. Neither grade should be selected from the application name alone; chloride content, pH, temperature, cleaning chemicals and expected service life must be reviewed.

For quotation, specify material, dimensions, perforation, mesh opening and weave where known, flow direction, solids type, design flow, allowable pressure drop, cleaning method, quantity and inspection requirements. Final layer construction is confirmed on the drawing before production.
