How it is made & specified.

Stainless steel perforated filter baskets are removable straining components used inside vessels, housings, sumps and process equipment. The perforated wall provides a rigid structure for collecting solids while allowing liquid to pass. Depending on the required retention level, the perforated basket may be used alone or combined with a woven wire mesh liner.

KAIFIL supplies these baskets to drawing or sample rather than treating the photographs as fixed catalogue dimensions. The important interfaces are the basket outside diameter, usable length, rim or flange, handle clearance, bottom style and the location of any sealing or support surfaces. Round-hole perforation is shown in the reference images; other opening patterns require engineering confirmation before quotation.

SS304 is suitable for many water and general industrial duties. SS316 or SS316L can be quoted where the process fluid or cleaning chemistry calls for improved corrosion resistance. Material selection must be based on fluid composition, temperature, chloride level and cleaning method; the final grade is confirmed on the quotation and drawing.

For finer filtration, specify the required particle retention or mesh opening as well as the acceptable pressure drop. A mesh liner should be defined by weave, wire diameter and opening, and its attachment method must suit the cleaning cycle. No micron rating should be inferred from the appearance of a perforated basket alone.

A complete RFQ should include a drawing or sample dimensions, material grade, perforation or liner requirement, flow direction, operating temperature, differential pressure, quantity and inspection documents. These inputs allow the basket structure and open area to be reviewed before production.
