How it is made & specified.

Extruder screens are mesh discs and screen packs installed in plastic extrusion lines to filter polymer melt before the die. They help capture contamination, gels and unmelted particles while protecting tooling and improving process stability.

Specify disc diameter, shape, mesh count, layer sequence, material, edge style, pack type, quantity and polymer process. For custom shapes, send a drawing, breaker plate layout or sample photo with dimensions.

Plain weave mesh, dutch weave mesh and coarse support mesh can be combined in one pack. A finer dutch weave layer improves retention, while support layers improve handling strength and pressure resistance.

What details are needed for extruder screen packs?

Send diameter or drawing, mesh count, layer sequence, material, edge style, pack type, quantity and polymer process. A sample photo is useful for custom shapes.

Can you make multilayer screen packs?

Yes. KAIFIL can combine plain weave, dutch weave and support mesh into spot-welded, rimmed or loose packs according to the required layer order.

Do I need rimmed or spot-welded packs?

Rimmed packs improve handling and quick change operation. Spot-welded packs keep layers aligned while keeping the edge thinner. The best choice depends on the screen changer and process.

Can the packs be supplied clean and labeled?

Yes. Clean separators, part labels, mesh count labels, bundle quantities and export packing marks can be prepared on request.

Which material is common for extruder screens?

SS304 is common for many extrusion lines. SS316L can be selected for better corrosion resistance or more demanding polymer and cleaning conditions.
